My tale of chemical straightening

So, as you girls know I've been wanting to get my hair chemical straighted for sometime. I got an e-mail from a salon I've gone to a few times and they were having a spa week with some specials and that included hair straightening for $50! Sounded good to me. I nervously drove 50 minutes in the snow to get there. The stylist didn't seem like she really knew what she was doing. She kept saying "I hope this is working, I hope this working. The ends are starting to curl."

So... here is how my professional chemical straightening came out... or didn't come out to be correct!
It's still curly/wavy and now it feels like straw!!!:( :(
She said it probably didn't take because I just had a baby and am nursing him so the hormones could play a factor in that. Would have been nice if she told me that before she put chemicals on my hair in vain.

EDIT- I did NOT pay for it! I would have been mad if I did because it nothing from my hair but dry it out! Thanks for your comments!!:)

I agree - looks great curly but you definately shouldn't have to pay for that! Was it that japanese straightening everyone talks about?

Thats a disgrace, obviously it still looks gorgeous but you have had your hair soaked in chemicals for absolutely nothing. I would demand a refund, after all you'll be paying for this for some time to come in the form of intensive conditioning treatments etc. Whats to say your hair won't start breaking in another few weeks? I would pursue this so that someone else doesn't have to go through this.
And apart from anything else I'm sure you were dreadfully disappointed after gearing yourself up to have it permanently straightened in the first place.

Oh wow, it does sound like she didn't have a clue what she was doing. I'm sorry to hear about that disappointment. But I do have to agree with all the others, you look so gorgeous with curly hair and it looks so healthy.

you are very consistent with the whole "being really pretty" thing lol I heard somewhere you can't chemically straighten dyed hair? Did you ever go to birch run for date night?

My stylist used the Rusk Str-8 product.

if it didnt work, she either overproccessed or underproccessed it. lets hope its underproccessed! i hope this doesnt turn you off of chemical straightening forever, when done right it can be amazing!

You should find a salon that does LaBrasiliana Straightening-it's a conditioning straightening treatment that is amazing! It takes the same time and costs the same as a chemical treatment, but leaves your hair super soft and unbelievable! The bad thing is that you can't wash your hair for 4 days (and you can't pull it back into a ponytail either because the kinks can set it) and it only takes out around 50% of the curls, but it is worth the time and money and it does NOT dry your hair out!
