Q&A

I saw Natneagle post this on her twittter a few days ago and I thought this was such a fun idea! I love Q&A's. Not that I am anyone special and you may not have any questions for me butttt if you do... than you can go here and ask me anything (within reason). It can be the most random questions too... doesn't have to have anything to do with beauty either. You guys should all get one of these, too.... it's fun to get to know eachother.... and this community just feels like a huge group of girlfriends coming together. I love it.

Where oh where have I been?

I have really fallen off the bloggin' wagon. I'm so sorry. I really want WILL to get back into blogging again. I've been kinda busy lately. I have recently moved to a new house 3 weeks ago so packing up the old house and unpacking into the new house has been a big job... not to mention I have two little boys running around the house!:)
I have so many new products I want to tell you about that I think you will reeaallly love. That will be coming up really soon. So, until then here are some 5 really random facts about me.

1. Although it's bad for me I like to have two cokes a day. I'm really weird about it because I am not random about when I drink them. It's always the same time and the same way. I have a coke at nap time (1:30pm-4pm) and when my kids go to bed at 8:30pm. I always stick my coke in the freezer for a few mins to get it extra chilly. Note to self: don't leave it in the freezer too long...the can WILL explode.

2. I reaaallllyyy love to decorate but for some reason I can never get things how I see them in my mind or in a magazine. Maybe if I was a millionaire I wouldn't have that problem. Trying to decorate on a budget can be a challenge but it's doable.

3.I will see any movie Angelina Jolie is in....just because she is in it. Her beauty is like a freak of nature and it's just not fair. :)

4. I am only 5'2". People think I am taller for some reason (even in person) but then I stand up and they are like "wow you are short." Sometimes I wish I was taller but it's nice being short, too.

5. I can't stand to drink milk. It totally grosses me out. I will (very rarely) drink chocolate milk with ice in it but even then the thought if it makes me feel gross. Yuck.

Anyways, my beautiful friends.... I will be blogging again. I have missed it!!:)

Sigma Brush Contest LIVE

My contest is live! Best of luck!:)

Sigma Brush Giveway coming soon....

Sigma was so sweet to send me their amazing brushes to give away. They were so generous and each package was put together with such love and care.

Keep a look out on my youtube channel (www.youtube.com/sardun1)... I'm going to be loading up the video tomorrow or the next day.

I'll be doing a proper review on them as well. I do have to say I really love them. I personally can't afford tons of MAC brushes. Sigma brushes are very comparable to MAC yet very affordable.

Good luck in my contest.... be on the look out for it!

Daily Make Up Survey

I saw this on http://beautybroadcast.blogspot.com and thought this was such a fun tag! What did you do today??

5. Did you do anything while applying makeup? My 2 year old sat on my lap and my 10 month old kept getting into my make up bag and he was trying to eat my brushes so I was trying to get those away from him. Ha ha. Oh the life of a mom! Nothing is ever simple.

7. Did you have a makeup inspiration in mind? Sadly, no.

Mission Foundation

In the last few months I was really on a mission to try and find the *perfect* foundation. A few times I felt I was really close and then it either broke me out bad or didn't look good in natural lighting. Here are my thoughts on what I've tried so far (or at least the ones I could think of off the top of my head.... yes I do have a problem).

1. MUFE HD Foundation- I adore this foundation. To me...it's pretty close to perfection. It give a very natural finish. You can still see your skin through it yet it covers beautifully. If you are getting your picture taken...WEAR THIS. You will glow. It doesn't really have a scent, didn't break me out, isn't too thick, you only need a pump or two, photographs amazing and the color selection is out of this world! LOVE IT.

2. Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk- My first report on this was really good however my thoughts have changed. It broke me out!:( The color selection is not great. I first tried 5.5 and it was too dark and made me orange than I tried 4.5 and 5...and those were too light. It looks great on your skin (at first) but it didn't last all day. Nice foundation but in the end didn't work for me. It's wayy to much money, too.

3. MAC Studio Fix Fluid- I hate this stuff with a passion. It smells horrible....the smell gave me a terrible headache. It broke me out really bad....like cystic acne bad (a common problem with this foundation) It was a tad too thick for me. I don't recommend this stuff.

4. Revlon Colorstay- this is almost a dupe for MAC SFF however it doesn't have a terrible smell, it doesn't clog the pores meaning no break outs for me, and it's only $10! This is a full coverage foundation so I'm not in love with it...I feel it masks my face too much. I do recommend this one, though. Great price, great product (if you like full coverage).

5. Chanel Pro Lumiere- at first I really liked this one... but again it broke my skin out. I wasn't crazy about the scent. It's a med/full coverage foundation and can feel a little oily on the skin. At first I was totally digging it but as soon as I looked at my face in natural lighting... I looked BAD. It set into all my pores and didn't last that long. I'm not a fan. It's a lot of money, too.

6. DIOR Nude- Not a fan *gasp* I think the consistency is kinda weird. It seems a little watery/chunky to me. The coverage was ok but not great. It didn't impress me. This foundation also broke me out.

7- MAC Studio Sculpt-At first this foundation looks amazing on... it goes on smooth because of it's unique gel like formulation. I remember looking in the mirror and thinking "wow". 30 minutes later it looked terrible. It wears off really fast and sets into pours. Yuck. Also, like with most MAC foundations...caused chin break outs. :(

8-Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Oil Free- I adore this foundation. For a tinted moisturizer the coverage is really great. It covers all my redness and uneven skin tone. It's perfect for summer and gives a great glow. You still look like you and that's what I love the most!

9-Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer (regular)- the oil free version and regular are night and day. The regular version is watery, doesn't cover or go on well and was not worth more than two tries. It went back to the store.

10-Lancome Teint Idole Ultra- this is a really amazing foundation that not many people talk about. It has amazing coverage, long wearing (site says up to 14 hours), it goes on smooth. It really recommend this and really need to spread the word on it because I don't think many woman know how good this foundation is.
So, my final thoughts are MUFE HD is hands down the WINNER!!!
What foundations do you love or hate?
Have a good weekend! MUAH!

The perfect illuminator's...SMASHBOX Artifical Light Luminizing Lotion

(I used FLASH all over my face and Glow on my cheeks/forehead/temples :)
I also used my new favorite lipgloss- Bambi by Buxom Lips!)

I'm in love.... with Smashbox Artificial Light Luminizing Lotion that is. I've been looking for a product to give me a healthy natural looking glow....this product doesn't disappoint! It adds the most amazing radiance to your skin. It's not disco ball shimmery either. It's just perfect.
How you can use this product is either mix it with your foundation or moisturizer is give your face an all over glow but if that's not what you want then you can add a few drops to the bridge of your nose, cupids bow on your lips, and on your cheek bones to give a nice highlight.
I got the colors Flash and Glow. Flash is perfect to add with your foundation. It's a light champagne color and gives the right amount of dewyness to your skin. The color Glow can be used more as a bronzer highlight. It looks AMAZING on your cheeks, forehead and temples.
Also, as you can see from the pictures this product is a liquid illuminator... it it can be kinda watery but it's worth it. Just use ONE pump and you are good to go!

This products is everything I've been looking for and more. It's only $24! Other products like this I looked at were $40 and up! You only need a teeny tiny bit so this product will last you forever!!

Have you tried this yet??
I know this GLOW looks scary dark but seriously it isn't in person.

L'OREAL Extra Volume Collagen Mascara

A few weeks ago I saw a commercial for this mascara staring Eva Longoria. Like ALL mascara commercials the actress or models lashes look out of this world good. I had to get my hands on this.

So, here's it's claims and then I'll tell you my thoughts.

12 x more impact instantly.

No flakes.

No Clumps.

No Smudges.

50% bigger than your classic brush.

Ok, so let me say this... this mascara does give some serious length however it took 3 to 4 coats to get it that way. After the 2nd or 3rd coat I noticed CLUMPS and my lashes were sticking together a little. There were no smudges just as they claim and no flakes. This is a waterproof mascara (which I didn't see when I bought it... I hate waterproof) and it's a beast to take off! The brush is a pretty nice size but for some reason it felt a little weird on my lashes. It's not a "soft" brush but it wasn't hard either. I guess what I'm trying to say is the brush bristles were a tiny bit rough but not in a bad way just a weird way. I found mine at Walmart for $6.48 and it came 2 for 1 in the package.

I think that this is a good mascara but not a great mascara. I'm by no means jumping around with joy but it's decent. I'm not sure if I'd recommend this if you have shorter lashes only because I feel like your lashes may stick together and we all know that's not the look you are going for.
Hope that was helpful if you were looking into buying this!:)

Make Up Forever HD Foundation

After months and months of searching for that perfect foundation...I finally found it. It wasn't an easy road to find it though. I had to deal with break outs, wrong colors, strange textures and weird smells. Then one fine day I gave this a chance and it was a match made in heaven.

Let me count the ways that I love thee....

This foundation is a medium to full coverage foundation. Normally I wouldn't go for a full coverage foundation because I hate the mask/cakey look that can come with that. This covers beautifully yet you still look like you and you can see your skin (minus the redness or discoloration). Out of all the foundations I've ever tried this photographs a-m-a-z-i-n-g.... you seriously glow. It's really hard to go wrong finding the right color seeing as they have 25 colors from the lightest to the darkest and everything in between. I'm using the color 120 and I love it.

This foundation will last you a long time because you only need a pump and half to cover your whole face....a little goes a long way. I like to apply this foundation with my fingers... I found I get the most natural look when I apply it this way.

It's $40 from Sephora.

This is what Sephora says about it and it could not be put or described better:
"It creates a soft-focus effect, designed to meet the coverage concerns of those in the spotlight. It creates a complexion that looks flawless, even in bright or harsh lighting."

I'm in love and I'm never turning back!:)
I also adore their Concealer Palette #1.... more to come on that...

Weight Loss

Wow, so it's been a while since I've blogged. Bad me. This is a different type of post, though. It's all about my weight loss plan and goals. I do think fitness and beauty really do go hand in hand, though. When you feel fit and healthily you do in turn feel beautiful. So, this is what I've been doing.
I started working out a little over a month ago... it's very hard to get to the gym with two little ones but I've really made it a priority. I gained about 50lbs with my 2nd son... I thought the weight would fall off like it did with my first (lost all my weight in 3 months)... yea...so that was NOT the case this time around. :(
I had my baby Oct 31st 08 and seriously have not lost one single pound since the middle of November. Enough was enough and I had to get my flabby butt to the gym.
I started out at 128lbs and I'm down to 122lbs. My goal is to be under 110lbs. I seriously think I can do it but it will require work. This is what I'm doing so far:

3-5 days a week I try and get to the gym. I work on the elliptical for 20 minutes, treadmill for 10 minutes and stationary bike for 10 minutes. I then use the weight hula hoop for 3 mins, jump rope, lift 10/15 weights for my arms, lunges with a 12lb bar over my shoulders, and squats with a 3 lbs ball. I also have been doing 100"bicycle" type of crunchs with a 10lb weight behind my head. From what I've read the "bicycle" crunchs are the BEST to do for abs!

I'm loving weight training. I think it's essential for toning up...and it won't make you huge just nice and toned. I try and do 3 reps of 10 (so 30) on each machine.

I've really changed my eating habits as well. I'm trying to eat a lot more fruits, veggies and lots of protein. I've been drinking a yummy chocolate protein shake between meals.

When I was younger I thought not eating was the way to lose lbs but clearly that's not healthy or even the way to do it.

Eat right and work out.... and slowly the weight WILL come off. But, if you do it THIS way and not stave yourself than the weight will stay off and you'll get a nice toned ROCK HARD rockin body!

My current inspiration is a woman named Jennifer Nicole Lee. She lost 70 lbs after the birth of her 2nd son. If she can do it...so can I.

How is your weight loss plan coming along?

Eyeko 3 in 1 Cream... the perfect highlighter!

I have nothing but good things to say about Eyeko! This is the only product I've tried by them but I'm VERY impressed. I bought the 3 in 1 Cream from www.eyeko.com and let me tell you.. it's a great company! FREE SHIPPING WORLD WIDE... I mean how many websites offer that? They shipped it really quick and the product was really inexpensive...it was $8 (or £6.00)if remember correct.

Ok, so on to the product.

This product says it's a 3 in 1 cream... a moisturizer, highlighter and eye cream. I personality think it can only be used as a highlighter...and a really amazing one. I think if you used it as an all over moisturizer you'd look like a shiny pinkish/pearl disco ball. It would NOT be a good look. As for an eye cream...again I'm not so sure about that. It might look pretty on your brow bone but that's about it.

I love this for a highlighter. It goes on really smooth and light. It creates the most beautiful "candle light glow". You only need a little bit...a little goes a long away. This jar will last you forever and for only 8 (£6.00)... you seriously can't beat that!

I'm very happy I got this product and I'm so impressed with the beautiful glow it gives!

Have you girls tried this? What is your favorite highlighter?

Tag: Love/hate

Lips
Love: I love full lips. Think Angelina Jolie or Megan fox. I sadly don't have lips like that so I like to pick colors and gloss that bring out what I do have. I love love love MAC Viva Glam IV (6). It's undeniably my HG lip gloss.

Hate: Gritty lip gloss that has chunky glitter. YUCK.

Face
Love: I love a face that glows. I love a smooth flawless face. Foundations that have given me that are: MUFE HD, Laura Mercier TM, Laura Geller TM.

Hate: I hate that I keep getting break outs on my jawline. I don't know if it's hormonal or if it's because I keep trying new foundations.

Hair
Love: Long, flowy, sleek, voluminous dark hair.

Hate: Frizzy, uncontrollable hair. I hate that it takes forever to get my hair to look half way decent.

Eyes
Love: Long eyeslashes. Thank you Lilash.

Hate: dark circles and tiny wrinkles forming.

Body
Love: jeans that fit just right and are slimming. St. Tropez whipped bronze mousse. This is pure love from me!

Hate: having 25 extra baby pounds on me. GOOOO AWAY.

Laura Geller Baked n Brighten Blush

While shopping at Sephora this blush caught my eye. It's so beautiful. It's called Baked n Brighten blush and I picked up the color Golden Apricot. It reminds me of a MAC MSF's without all the glitter and fall out. It goes on so smooth and it's extreamly pigmented.
This is what Sephora says about it:
What it is:
Rich tones of marbleized pigments swirled together into a radiant liquid that is poured into terra cotta pans and baked for 24 hours into a soft, creamy powder.

What it is formulated to do:
Imparts a glow-giving blush that's perfect for all skin tones.

It comes in 6 different stunning colors:
Berry (pink/ berry/ cream/ gold), Golden Apricot (bronze/ gold/ rose), Honey Dipped (bronze/ gold/ copper, Pink Grapefruit (beige/ mauve/ pink shimmer), Roseberry (rose/ copper/ pink), and Sunswept (bronze/ coral/ rose)

These are $29.50 (size 0.32 oz) so they are a little more than the MSF's but these blushes will last you forever because you only need a little to get an amazing payoff!

Here are some pictures of Golden Apricot

The Only True Beauty Magazine- New Beauty!

I don't know if you girls have ever seen this magazine but it's one of my favorite "beauty" magazines. It's all about cosmetics, skincare, plastic surgery, beauty treatment. I seriously could read it for hours. I love these magazines so much that can't bring myself to throw them away ($10 an issue may have something to do with that) and I go back and look at them over and over. I have found this magazine and Walmart, Target, CVS, etc. It's totally worth it for all the cosmetic junkies out there!:)

Lilash... I do believe it works!

After

Before

For more pics.... read on.....

I've been using Lilash for 3 months now and I have to tell you....I'm in awe. It's not a gimmick. It works. It's $120 for a tube that will last you anywhere from 6 to 8 months. I've been seeing ads on TV for a new prescription lash product (Latisse) and it's $130 PER MONTH!!! That's insane.

Lilash works girls. I have proof. My lashes naturally curl up on their own now. I really don't even need a curler unless I want them touching my brow bone. I have nothing bad to say about this product expect when I first started using it my eyes were beet red, puffy and swollen for the first week. I almost stopped using it but I'm glad I didn't. I only put it on my top lashes ONCE a day (at night). Another thing to note is it has turned my lash line a dark color...kinda a brownish purple color right on the skin above my lashes.

So...here is the proof!:)
BEFORE-

No mascara or eye make up. NO LASHES what so ever as you can see.

Haul or Beauty Spree...or...

Macface2adore (Jennifer) and I were trying to find a different word for "haul" last week on twitter and we came up with "Beauty Spree." Some people hate it...some people love it. To us the word "haul" sounds like you are hauling trash to the curb or hauling furniture. It just doesn't make sense it it's not glamours by any means.

The word spree means: Verb 1. spree - engage without restraint in an activity and indulge, as when shopping, a brief period of extravagant spending, a brief indulgence of your impulses.

The word Haul means:To transport, as with a truck or cart, To pull or drag forcibly; tug.

So, my challenge to you is to come up with something cute for the word haul.

In the end...it doesn't matter which word you like or if you are a fan of either or neither. It's really all about what a person wants to call their beauty buys. It's not intended to cause drama... cause after all... it's just a word!!:)

Do you like the word haul, beauty spree or what word do you think fits extravagant spending!? :)

It's Summer- GO NUDE! On your lips...that is!

It's almost summer time and the most beautiful summer lip is something light, natural and neutral. Here are some of my all time favorite neutral lip colors. These colors would compliment almost every skin tone. Some you have to be a little more daring.. such as the Gosh Darling with is the ultimate definition of "nude".

Celebs without make up!

I don't know why this fascinates me so much but it does. I think it's because when we think about celebrities we think about perfection. We get down on ourselves because we won't ever look as good as they do. Guess what. Most celebrities are normal looking woman. Extremely beautiful yet normal. It's all about the right make up, lighting and every celebs bestfriend a graphic artist who is a pro at photoshop!
So, these woman are beautiful but we have to remember not to put so much pressure to be perfect like they are... it's not real.

TruBlend...I wish!

I don't like giving something a bad review, I really don't. However when I try a product that isn't good (at least it wasn't for me) than I want to share the reasons why I didn't like it and maybe help you save some money. Some products work for some people and some don't. This product did NOT work for me.

CoverGirl TruBlend Whipped Foundation

I am on a mission to find a cheaper version of the Laura Mercier oil free tinted moisturizer but I'm beginning to realize nothing is going to compare.
I found the Covergirl TruBlend Whipped foundation tonight at Rite Aid. It looked light, creamy and beautiful in it's little glass jar. I opened the top and it looked like it might be a winner but than I notice something...the scent smells like a cheap liquid hand soap at a gas station. Yuck. I try and forget about the horrible scent and apply it to my face... this is the biggest mistake I've made since I tried MAC SFF (this mistake may be worse!!). It is so greasy... and greasy is an under statement in my opinion. Coverage leaves a lot to be desired...it's very sheer and in the worst possible way. I had a hard time finding the right color match as well. It's hard when you can't actually see the true color through the glass. It doesn't really blend that well and took a few layers to even look half way decent.

The very worst thing about this product is within 3 hours of putting it on it's completely broken me out. 5 new blemishes in 3 hours. Not only did it break me out it made my whole face feel soooo itchy! I hate this stuff and it's going back tomorrow. Biggest waste of money.

Now I'm off to scrub my itcy face. Get this stuff off of me!!

Have you tried this product? Did this happen to you or did you have any luck?

Doesn't it look pretty? Like beauty goes..it's what's in inside that counts!!
